Garden-Helper.com is a young company located in the cold state of Vermont where we have far too little growing season and much too much time to plan next years' harvest. But more than that Garden-Helper.com is a community of gardeners from all over the country seeking advice, answers to gardening questions and a place to share gardening experience.
Garden-Helper is brought forth by the efforts of family wanting to spend less time commuting and more time communing. It is our mission to provide a place online where others with a love for growing things can Learn, Share, Plan and Shop. We hope to foster a community that grows as much as the gardens we work so hard for and which reward us so deeply.
Motivated by the love of growing and the enormous market for gardening, it is our hope that we can be both a timely and informative service to our guests and to learn from them as well. We hope to turn a small enough profit to afford to continue to build the site.
There are several key people involved in the creation of the Garden-Helper site. So far our efforts have been recognized by many folks who send us kudos via email and we have been fortunate to recieve recognition by way of website awards as well.
Our People
Ed Rooney

Ed first had the idea for a garden-helper type site in 1998. In 2002, he bought the domain and had been sketching plans and ideas and tossing it around in his mind until finally after some personal tragedy in early 2005, he set his ideas into action and took the first tentative steps toward developing the site.
He has a long background in web development and an educational background in ecological agriculture and botany among other varied interests. He relocated to Vermont from southern California over a dozen years ago and has not since looked back. He raises his three children and works late hours to grow the garden-helper site.
Joe Capone
Joe is specialized in website development with a background in custom programming. He attended Champlain College in the mid 90's and went on to work as a professional developer. Ed and Joe had worked closely together on a number of projects until Joe and his wife relocated to Florida. The garden-helper project now brings their creative collaborative talents back together.
Having passion for his career helps him maintain a full-time programmer position, operate his own consulting business, and stake claim to many projects including garden-helper.
